Our beachfront home has a natural coastal dune setting with immediate beach access, offering a family-friendly, tranquil way of life that is hard to find or create.
Our spacious and sunny home epitomises the special coastal ambiance on offer and is definitely a place for all seasons. Ideal for friends, couples or families who want a break away to enjoy surfcasting, white baiting, bike riding, walking or just relaxing/reading. Kids love to play in the sand dunes and can safely have the freedom to do so as they are on the property! We are family-friendly and have toys for the kids.
With 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms split over 3 levels, it can comfortably sleep 8 so there’s plenty of room for the whole family. The spacious open-plan living is complemented with large stacker doors designed to maximise the indoor/outdoor flow to the outdoor areas. Outside, the sheltered courtyard is the perfect place to relax and unwind. The numerous other features include the tower to escape to for relaxation or a wine. The tower has 360-degree panoramic views of the Tararua ranges, Kapiti Island, the sea and beyond, plus enjoy the magnificent sunsets on offer. This really is a magic place to stay.
You can even bring your own horse and use our horse paddock - go horse trekking along the wide beach and swim the horse in the little lake or sea.
For your convenience, the home is kitted out with all the mod cons such as unlimited Wi-Fi, dishwasher, microwave and a wood fire to keep you cozy in Winter.

Summary: Disappointing communication with owner, emails not answered, phone not answered. Wrong lock key combination given. House was clean and tidy but lots of things needed fixing. Lovely location if weather is great but far away from civilisation if you need something. The general feeling about the property was that the owners had checked out as the house was on the market. Has so much potential to be amazing place though. Just needs some TLC.

Summary: We booked this as a weekend beach retreat, the property is spacious, but some areas are a little run down and looking a bit tired. The fire - was hard to light with 5 matches and no fire starters and a blunt axe to chop kindling - also it looked like the fire was in need of a service as kicked out little heat. The kitchen was well equipped. We didn’t realise when we booked that pets were allowed which is on us, but meant that the two of us with fur allergies did struggle a bit - as we could smell dog and there were stray dog fur about. The front door didn’t open from the inside as handle was broken. The beach access is about 5 mins away through dunes and we got “ lost “ a couple of times as track from house isn’t clear - you need sturdy footwear. What saves this property is the tower - 360 degree views perfect for weather watching and relaxing. Whilst we enjoyed our stay, it’s not somewhere that we would return to.

Summary: Close to stunning beach , relaxing warm and had all you could need to cater for every one. Comfy beds and close to shopping in Ōtaki or Levin. Brilliant place

Summary: Enjoyed our stay lots of room so everyone had space to do what they wanted lots of sunny areas to sit. Location fab. This is 2nd stay here lovely place to get away from it all

Summary: This trip was about celebrating a birthday but also building confidence in our young dogs. The accommodation is very dog friendly with a contained courtyard in the middle and lots of freedom outside of this to run through the dunes and onto the quiet beach. Locals are dog aware so no issues with unfriendly dogs. The accommodation is comfortable, large and welcoming. The turret at the top is a peaceful oasis to sit with a glass of wine and watch the sun go down. Great place to unwind and forget about daily life for a while. Will definitely be back for another family gathering. Thank you Ronel for allowing us to enjoy your slice of heaven!

Summary: Beautiful location, great birdwatching and fantastic bathroom showers but the house was let down by a few maintenance issues that could easily be fixed - kitchen bin doesn’t close (smelly and attracted flies), the dishwasher drawer is missing some wheels and had no rinse aid and the master bed is old and squeaky (we were quite sleep deprived after 3 nights as it was very noisy). Communication also wasn’t great. Bookabach lists check in as 1pm but, just 24 hours before we arrived, the owner emailed to say check in was now 3pm. When I queried this and sent through a screenshot of the Bookabach page, I got no response. It really messed up our first day plans and an apology would have gone a long way. When we did arrive, the cleaner (who was still cleaning) said it had happened before so this seems to be a known issue when booking through Bookabach.
